About Us: We are a leading hedge fund specializing in a diverse range of investment strategies. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CMBS Analyst to join our team and contribute to our growing portfolio.

Job Description: As a CMBS Analyst, you will play a critical role in analyzing and managing our investments in commercial mortgage-backed securities. You will be responsible for evaluating CMBS transactions, assessing credit risk, and providing actionable investment recommendations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate finance, solid analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of CMBS transactions, including collateral review, cash flow modeling, and scenario analysis.
  • Evaluate the credit quality of commercial real estate loans underlying CMBS deals.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of CMBS investments, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support investment decisions.
  • Prepare detailed investment memos and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments impacting the CMBS market.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, and other analysts to develop and implement investment strategies.
  • Participate in due diligence meetings and site visits as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA) is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in CMBS analysis, commercial real estate finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of CMBS structures, underwriting, and the commercial real estate market.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of proficiency in Excel and other financial software; experience with Bloomberg and Intex is a plus.
