This position is an industrial electrician responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of equipment in the Coated Products area of Big River Steel facility. Digital assessment test is required to be completed within 14 days of submitting application. Duties and Responsibilities: 1) Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on complex electrical equipment, including PLCs, control circuits, communication systems, I/O field devices, and VFD drives/motors 2) Install or modify electrical equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, and other specifications with minimal instruction after general assignment 3) Use Electrical Ingenuity and Work directly with all mechanics and operations personnel in a fast-paced environment to help develop a safety focused and productive Coated Products Team. Support maintenance teammates to help maintain a positive and efficient work environment focused on safety and reliability. Qualifications: 1) Demonstrated safety focus and willingness to proactively apply it in a team environment 2) Quality and detail oriented with strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills 3) Adaptability to accept changes in job duties and eagerness to learn and apply new knowledge 4) Reliable team player with good communication skills 5) Highly motivated, self-directed, and willing to put in extra hours when needed 6) Demonstrated proficiency using precision measuring instruments 7) Experienced with mobile equipment. ( Rough Terrain, Man Lift, Fork Lift Carry Deck or Broaderson) 8) Efficient in the Metric Measuring System a plus 9) Basic computer skills; MS Excel, Word, and Outlook is a plus 10) Read Electrical drawings, blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures 11) Knowledgeable of programming and troubleshooting logic to include ladder logic, function block programming 12) Knowledgeable of VFDs, principle design, programming, and trouble shooting skills; I.O. systems and design layout; three-phase motors and ability to troubleshoot; network infrastructure; basic mechanical components in a mill; basic Hydraulic systems, how they operate and design layout 13) Willing to learn and take on multiple roles, such as mechanical and production positions as well as continually improve on primary skill set 14) HS diploma or equivalent is required; electrical degree or training is preferred Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: Environment is typical for a steel mill production area, with extreme temperatures, high noise levels, and dusty/ greasy areas. Physically demanding work will be required in the production environment. Typical work hours are four 12-hour shifts, which rotate days and nights. This results in working some weekends/holidays and overtime.
