As a Cloud Engineer, you will focus heavily on AWS technologies to architect, implement, and maintain optimal cloud solutions. You will play a key role in designing landing zones that support scalable deployment across multiple AWS accounts and services, ensuring high levels of security and compliance. Remote with 3 days of onsite requirement per month in Livermore CA (tuesday, weds, thursday) Wide open w2 hourly rates. Key Responsibilities: - Design and deploy AWS landing zones to facilitate the secure and efficient management of cloud resources.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand requirements and craft cloud architectures that meet business and technical needs.
- Develop scripts and tools to automate cloud deployments and operations within AWS.
- Ensure that all cloud solutions follow internal security guidelines and compliance mandates.
- Proactively monitor and optimize cloud services for performance and cost.
- Provide expertise and support during systems upgrades, installations, conversions, and file maintenance.
- Train and mentor junior staff in cloud technologies and practices.
- Keep up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and advancements within AWS. Qualifications: - Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer with a strong focus on AWS infrastructure, including extensive experience with AWS landing zones.
- Proficient in AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, CloudFormation, and Lambda.
- Skilled in programming and scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate tasks.
- Solid understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework, security best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to manage complex projects in a dynamic environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams. Preferred Qualifications: - AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or other relevant AWS certifications.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Git, Ansible, or Terraform.
- Knowledge of container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. IOT Greengrass experience highly desireable
