JOB SUMMARY:


NORC's Information Technology team is seeking a motivated Cloud Engineer with hands-on experience in either AWS or Azure to join our growing team. This position will work with an exceptional team of data scientists, architects, and technologists to develop next generation cloud solutions and leverage enhanced features of AI/ML. The ideal candidate has over 10 years of experience working in a multi-cloud structured environment.




DEPARTMENT:


NORC's Information Technology program provides technology services to our staff and clients. RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Collaborate with cross-functional architecture and data science teams to design and deploy secure cloud-based solutions.

  • Work closely with other Cloud Engineers and contractors to deploy and configure cloud services that meet the needs of various business partners.

  • Collaborate, support, and communicate cross-functional needs to Cloud leaders to ensure scalable cloud solutions in the future.

  • Define and configure backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies for multi-account cloud environments.

  • Define and maintain tagging policies across a multi-cloud environment.

  • Lead monitoring and service availability across cloud environments.

  • Develop Infrastructure-as-Code and build pipeline deployment practices.

  • Lead cloud cost optimization and performance tuning efforts.

  • Configure security policies and controls to adhere with client and government compliance requirements.

  • Stay up to date with AWS and Azure services, features and best practices to contribute innovative ideas and solutions to the team.

  • Participate in training workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge in cloud engineering.



REQUIRED SKILLS:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.

  • 7+ years of experience as a cloud engineer or similar role, with a focus on AWS and/or Azure cloud services.

  • In-depth knowledge of cloud platform services, architecture, and best practices.

  • Hands-on experience managing resources in a multi-account environment.

  • Proficient experience in python scripting, build automation, and deploying infrastructure as code.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are a must.



SALARY AND BENEFITS:


The pay range for this position is $121,000 to $181,000.




This position is classified as regular. Regular staff are eligible for NORC's comprehensive benefits program. Benefits include, but are not limited to:
