We are a premier pediatric specialty, research, and academic teaching hospital with a medical and research partnership with Massachusetts General Hospital. It is the world's leading center for pediatric burn care and is the only American Burn Association (ABA) exclusively pediatric verified burn center in New England and New York.


The Boston Shriners Hospital is one of four pediatric burn specialty hospitals in Shriners Children's health system and provide comprehensive care for cleft lip, cleft lep palate and other craniofacial anomalies, with a multidisciplinary care team.


The Clinical Transformation Specialist will serve as the primary resource for providing advanced Clinical integration support at the local level. As a resource the Clinical Transformation Specialist provides on going user education and informatics support for various teams, committees and informatics projects throughout the facility.


This position assists in providing facility vision and direction for implementations, workflow design, data management and related duties to support Shriners Hospitals for Children Mission and Vision. This position is located in-person at the Shriners Hospital in Boston, MA. This is NOT a remote position.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Support clinical integration, operations, and achievement of clinical excellence related to Informatics
  • Supports the Clinical Analyst with development, delivery, communication and evaluation of staff education related to clinical systems
  • Coach, mentor, and provide at-the-elbow support for members of the clinical team in gaining and maintaining competency in use of clinical information and communication systems
  • Support Clinical Analyst in developing and coordinating communication regarding future EHR changes
  • Develop and perform competency assessments related to clinician use of information systems; documents findings; designs and delivers targeted remediation training as necessary. Evaluates effectiveness of interventions. Facilitates and or participates in interdisciplinary teams to identify clinical systems improvements
  • Serves as resources to individuals and teams at the local level and in collaboration with the Home Office.
  • Provide workflow analysis and recommendations for optimization of the clinical/non-clinical EHR interfaced applications.
  • Leads project teams, coordinates work activities, reports on work status, and provides feedback/input on team performance.
  • Facilitates two-way flow of communication between Information Systems and Clinical departments.


Certification/Licensure

  • Project Management certification or Informatics certification strongly preferred, not required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Nursing, Health Informatics or related field required, along with three (3) years plus experience with clinical/health informatics. Technical experience includes EPIC and Cerner.
  • Minimum of three (3) years plus experience in clinical informatics preferred.
  • One year EMR (electronic medical record) experience, along with Epic and Cerner experience required
