How you make a difference:

As a Clinical Therapist, your main responsibility is to provide sex offender-specific treatment and case management services to civilly committed residents of the Sexually Violent Predator Treatment Program. You will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, facilitating group therapy sessions, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation. Additionally, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure a coordinated approach to resident care and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to all applicable laws, policies, and regulations set forth by the State and relevant professional governing bodies.
Provide treatment to assigned individuals and groups, following established performance standards. Document service delivery and resident progress weekly in accordance with specified standards and timeframes.
Serve as a Clinical Therapist to assigned residents, involving tasks such as writing and monitoring individualized treatment plans, coordinating referrals, and conducting weekly meetings. Additionally, evaluate and handle property and visitation requests.
Conduct sex offender treatment groups weekly with a co-facilitator and lead psycho-educational ancillary groups based on resident needs. Ensure preparation for each session, including collaboration with co-facilitators, reviewing care plans, and post-group processing.
Provide oversight and guidance during Therapeutic Study Hours and Community Meetings. Participate in weekend clinical rotations, offer training to staff on clinical methods related to Sexually Violent Predators, administer assessments within licensure scope, and actively engage in staff meetings and development activities.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

Masters or Doctoral degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related human services field.

Experience

Prior clinical experience working with sexual offenders and an understanding of the dynamics of sexual deviance strongly preferred.
Familiarity with relevant research literature, clinical assessments, procedures and methods, particularly those designed for sexual offenders.
Ability to assess treatment goals and write goal-directed, individualized treatment plans.
Ability to monitor and document individual behavior patterns and modify treatment plans to meet changing treatment goals.
Ability to instruct others in the implementation of therapeutic and behavioral interventions and procedures.
Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
Ability to form and maintain good working relationships with a diverse staff and a commitment to enhancing cultural competency.
Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

Licenses/Certifications

Licensed or license-eligible in respective state as a Clinical Psychologist (LCP), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
Licensed by the Council on Sex Offender Treatment as an LSOTP, ASOTP, or PSOTP.
