Below, you'll find other important information about this position. The Clinical Technician is a temporary position for the nursing student to shadow the Registered Nurse. The Clinical Technician, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, may provide or assist with basic nonprofessional direct patient care activities MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Graduate of Accredited Nursing School or in the final year of Nursing School 2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EXPERIENCE: 1. Prior patient care experience. CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Observes and reports all abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to Registered Nurse. 2. Assists the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, and discharge of the patient. 3. Records vital signs, weights, Assist patients with personal hygiene and activities of daily living, application and removal of telemetry 4. Assists in specimen collection and other activities under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse 5. Assists in indirect patient care by maintaining a clean and safe environment to help prevent and/or control infections and to provide for safety of patients, visitors and employees. 6. Reports all necessary equipment repairs to appropriate personnel according to departmental procedure in a timely manner. 7. Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to departmental procedure. 8. Communicates with RN regarding any nutrition issues, such as poor appetite or verbalized lack of understanding of diet changes. 10. Assists department with administrative tasks to support the department operations. 11. Answers patient call bell and relays message to appropriate personnel.
