Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule Grade: 110 Salary: $1,021 - $1,341 Biweekly Department: Finance - Central Cashiering E-mail: ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:Rotating work schedule Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be available to work additional hours as needed. Balancing is done after the close of business; employees are cross trained at Elliott Transfer Station, Development Services and Central Cashiering at City Hall. Responsibilities This job is for Central Cashiering, Solid Waste and Development Services. Provide assistance to the general public accepting payments by cash, check, credit card and debit card. Process payments received by mail, bank and by any other City of Corpus Christi department. All cashiers are trained and rotated to Central Cashiering, Elliott Transfer Station, and Development Services locations. All balancing is done after the close of business and all employees need to be at their work station prior to the start of business. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Position requires a High School Diploma or GED with two (2) years of experience in cash handling, customer service and balancing a cash drawer. Experience using ten-key by touch strongly preferred. A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire. Other Information: Basis of Rating Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview. Closing Statement Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test. Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi. In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the general public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services. This position is classified as "Safety Sensitive". All employees in safety sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing, pursuant to City policy, HR 15.0 Alcohol and Drug Abuse.
