Purpose: The Clinical Supervisor coordinates, oversees, and supports activities of the UR clinical staff and their performance, to ensure emotionally intelligent, clinically competent, high-quality healthcare in an efficient manner. The position is a combination of clinical direct care, administration, leadership, and inventory management responsibilities to ensure the UR is able to maintain a high level of ethical and professional performance standards.

The Urgency Room is looking for an RN or Paramedic to be our next Clinical Supervisor. This person will have leadership responsibilities over the clinical team at The Urgency Rooms.


Key Result Areas: The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Understands all clinical staff responsibilities and supports clinical staff in the efforts to serve patients through direct care
  • Looks for ways to improve administrative operations through enhancing, implementation and monitoring of clinic policies, procedures, and standards
  • Works to improve healthcare standards
  • Leads clinical staff toward meeting the UR's vision, goals and objectives
  • Manages Pyxis inventory of medications, discrepancy audits, and technical/mechanical support
  • Will be on-call approximately 10 days a month, be available between 6am-11pm. can include weekdays, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a clinical care supervisor position or UR clinical progressive work experience (participation with committees, special projects and/or assigned additional responsibilities)
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven leadership and team relationship and development skills
  • Ability to maintain clinical competence as outlined in Registered Nurse or Paramedic job description

Required Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

  • Valid Minnesota Driver's License or photo identification
  • Current Minnesota Registered Nurse or Paramedic License
  • Ability to maintain required licensure and certification as a Registered Nurse or Paramedic
  • Certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and if a licensed nurse, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
