The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Clinical Social Worker (GS-0185-12) to work at the 436 Security Forces Squadron (SFS) on Dover AFB in Dover, DE. The primary purpose of this position is to provide a full range of professional social work services within operational Air Force Squadrons. Serves as a member of a multidisciplinary Integrated Operational Support (IOS) team directly supporting the Line of the Air Force (LAF) mission assigned True North program with the goal of building resiliency, enhancing human performance and improving unit mission effectiveness. AFCS Benefits: Paid Time Off - 11 Federal Holidays each year - 13 sick leave days earned per year (accumulative) Paid Vacation Time - 13-26 days per year based on length of employment Health Insurance - No waiting period to qualify for you and your family Retirement - Immediate coverage by the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) - Basic Benefits Plan - Social Security - Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), similar to a 401(k) (Automatically receive 1% agency contributions and up to 5% matching)Duties and Responsibilities: - Observes and participates in squadron activities in order to identify psychosocial stressors and barriers to optimal human performance. - Develops and implements initiatives to mitigate psychosocial stressors and risks and optimize airmen performance. - Provides psychological consultation, education, and training to military commanders/senior leaders, other mental health professionals, and medical staff. - Conducts psychodiagnostics assessments and provides evidence-based psychotherapy. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's) - Professional knowledge of social work practices, principles, theories, and administrative requirements to be able to apply them in a clinical or occupational setting. - Professional knowledge of evidence-based treatments for a full range of psychiatric disorders to plan and provide treatment to patients. - Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) of the American Psychiatric Association to evaluate psychiatric disorders and apply professional diagnostic skills. Other Qualifications: - U.S. Citizenship - Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. - Must possess and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. - As a condition of employment, government civilian providers must meet all applicable credentialing requirements IAW local military treatment facility guidelines and be fully qualified to perform within the scope of their practice. - Must have practiced as an independent licensed clinical social worker within past two years. - Practice will require clinical privileges at the host military treatment facility. Must maintain active clinical privileges for the duration of employment. Must sustain current competency to practice at the independent level. - Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S Virgin Islands.
