Position Overview
The Office of Clinical, Administrative and Program Support is seeking to hire a licensed registered Pharmacist located in Elgin, Illinois to serve as a clinical pharmacist at the Facility in the interdisciplinary setting for matters related to pharmacological uses. The Clinical Pharmacist provides guidance and professional leadership to the Pharmacy Technicians in filling physician orders and medication station supply requisitions. In addition, compiles information from client medication records and assists physicians, pharmacists, and nursing personnel in in-service training regarding drug/medication matters.

Job Responsibilities
1. Serves as a clinical pharmacist at the Facility in the interdisciplinary setting for matters related to pharmacological uses.
2. Provides guidance and professional leadership to the Pharmacy Technicians in filling physician orders and medication station supply requisitions.
3. Compiles information from client medication records.
4. Assists physicians, pharmacists, and nursing personnel in in-service training regarding drug/medication matters.
5. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires current license as a registered pharmacist in the State of Illinois.
2. Requires one year of professional experience as a practicing registering pharmacist.

Preferred Qualifications
1. One (1) year of professional experience dealing with medical reactions, benefits, and side effects associated with specific drug therapies.
2. One (1) year of professional experience directing and participating in the preparation of complex prescriptions.
3. One (1) year of professional experience analyzing and properly interpreting medication and charts and identifying and recommending modifications when necessary.
4. One (1) year of professional experience maintaining accurate records and reports of pharmaceuticals purchases, dispensed and stored.
5. One (1) year of professional experience providing leadership and guidance relating to medical reactions, benefits and side effects.
6. One (1) year of professional experience communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.

Conditions of Employment
1. Requires an Illinois Registered Pharmacist license free of discipline.
2. Requires no discipline reported from other States Boards of Pharmacy.
3. Requires the ability to maintain licensure in good standing as a registered pharmacist in the State of Illinois.
4. Requires ability to lift, push and carry up to 50 lbs.
5. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
6. Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
