About the Role:

Job Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the hospital's Clinical Learning Environment through focused review relative to the ACGME accreditation requirements and CLER Pathways to Excellence: Patient Safety, Health Care Quality, Teaming, Supervision, Well-being, Professionalism. Participates in planning and implementation of education in the six pathways for NGMC staff. The position includes organization and liaison with staff for preparation of and follow up from Clinical Learning Environment Review site visits. Additional responsibilities include projects to integrate the pathways into residency education, participation and membership in hospital safety, quality and wellness committees and facilitating integration of residents and fellows into organizational committees.



Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Licensure or other certifications: Current RN license in the State of Georgia

  • Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree, graduate of a state accredited school of nursing

  • Minimum Experience: Five years clinical direct patient care experience in a hospital or healthcare setting. In lieu of Bachelors degree, will consider candidates with an Associates or Diploma RN degree with an additional 5 years experience in patient safety, quality and/or risk management.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Facilitates and presents interdivisional/departmental education to both residents/fellows and NGHS staff involving the six pathways

  • Collaborates with GME Leadership, system director/managers, nursing leaders and other subject matter experts to develop curricula for CLER education within the system

  • Contributes expertise to hospital/system and medical staff committees and facilitates/advocates for resident/fellow involvement

  • Participates in ongoing analysis, planning/implementation of action plans and evaluation of strategic initiatives supporting the clinical learning environment

  • Facilitates the RL system for residents/fellows to support education, quality improvement and loop closure

  • Serves as liaison for resident and nursing collaboration within the clinical learning environment

  • Complete periodic reports, including budget needs and participate in department team projects and meetings

  • Actively participate in professional development activities

  • Assist with faculty development for GME faculty in six focus areas

  • Other projects as assigned
