Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: Employment Type: Full Time Shift: Days Position Purpose: The clinical educator assists the clinical nurse manager and director in supervising the coordinating of care, planning, directing, and evaluating all aspects of patient care and the overall operations of the department. Management responsibilities include assisting with staff development and education over the service line areas, daily staff assignment of patient care, inventory control, unit budget, quality improvement, annual performance evaluations, and communication. (Team Work) Adapts positively to the ever changing health care environment by supporting technology and process changes. (Adaptability) Maintains active logons/passwords for computer software systems that support patient care and education. Supervises and coordinates patient care on the unit and ensures that optimal level of performance/standards of care is achieved by all student and colleagues. (Adherence to policy) Participates in risk management efforts and the unit's quality improvement program, which promotes improved patient/employee safety, patient care, nursing development and professional growth. (Initiative, Problem Identification, Problem Solving) Chairs and/or participates in unit/housewide committee's projects and processes that promote quality patient care, nursing knowledge and development, and professional growth. (Problem Identification, Problem Solving) Hours/Schedule: Full Time 40hrs a week, Days 6:45am - 3:15pm, Call requirements includes weekends, weekdays and holidays. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of a program in professional nursing. Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa. Must have a BSN or Bachelors degree in an approved course of study or be willing to complete a bachelor's degree within 5 years. Minimum of four years in OR nursing. Ability to work flexible hours.
