We will be the most trusted health partner for life. $5,000 Sign-On Bonus Indepth knowledge Next Generation Genome Sequencing HLA Monday-Friday Day shift: 8:00am -4:30pm Occasional On Call Brand NEW Clinical Laboratory - Features daylight access, in an open concept lab space About the Job In this role, the Technical Specialist (HLA) will oversee the daily operation of the HLA laboratory section to ensure the precision and reproducibility of laboratory test results in accordance with accreditation standards and guidelines. What you'll need Collaborates with the medical director, manager and faculty in the development of new procedures or programs. Evaluates, validates and implements new instrumentation and procedures. Develops written procedures to maintain regulatory compliance and support new instrumentation and test methodologies. Works with the director to review and revise procedure manuals to ensure test accuracy and regulatory and accreditation requirements. Communicates changes in policies and procedures to appropriate medical center staff and/or clients. Oversees the daily operations of the section to effectively utilize resources including staff, equipment, space and supplies. Prepares work schedules and monitors staff productivity to effectively utilize personnel and adhere to established turnaround times. Coordinates the availability of supplies and instrumentation for the efficient daily operation of the section. Reviews daily work to identify potential technical and/or clerical errors and facilitate the timely correction of results when necessary. Troubleshoots procedures and instrumentation to minimize instrument downtime and insure accurate results. Maintains the departmental quality assurance program to ensure regulatory compliance and test quality. Reviews quality control records and proficiency testing summary reports. Implements corrective action, as necessary, to ensure the quality of test results. Establishes quality assurance monitors to improve laboratory services. Facilitates the training of new staff members and students. Evaluates the competency of students and laboratory staff. Performs all laboratory testing, including the pre-examination phase in accordance with standard operating procedures and accreditation guidelines to support the delivery of patient care.
