Description

JOB SUMMARY

• The Hospice Clinical Informatics Educator is a key IT position based in Hospice and is responsible for developing and delivering training and education to all existing and new end users in the organization. The Hospice Clinical Informatics Educator trains on how to use various types of clinical software efficiently and effectively in support of business, regulatory, quality of care and outcome objectives. Will be responsible for working with external vendors (EG: Suncoast Solutions EMR, Optum Pharmacy Services, and attending physicians) for optimization of software products. Will be responsible for managing the patient portal via Suncoast Solutions EMR. Will also work with Phoebe Sumter Hospice to ensure that financial clearance is provided.

• Demonstrated ability to be self-directed with excellent organizational, analytical, writing, interpersonal and project management skills.
• Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
• Maintains a current knowledge of trends and issues in health care, nursing practice, healthcare informatics, DNV standards.
• Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.
• May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure. Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
• Long-distance or air travel as needed - not to exceed 10% travel.

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• 4 year / Bachelor's Degree or education required for related license. (Required)
• In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 4 years additional relevant experience is acceptable.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 3-4 years of training staff to adopt new workflow and tools (Preferred)
• 3-4 years experience in Hospice or Home Health (Preferred)
• 1+ years of experience in Clinical Informatics (Preferred)

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES

• Required Certifications/Licensures: RN, RT, PT/OT or Current Georgia Licensure in Healthcare related field
