RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Oversight & Program Development
- Help develop and implement the Bridge clinical program and philosophy that integrates mental health and drug and alcohol treatment services as well as family therapy
- Help develop a family therapy treatment model and implement a training program for Bridge staff in family therapy
- Provide regular supervision to Bridge/Villa therapists and Outpatient program therapist
- Review all treatment plans, progress notes and clinical records; ensure that documentation meets appropriate clinical and regulatory standards and reflects best practices in clinical care
- Coordinate all clinical activities, in collaboration with the Deputy Director, Operations Director, Program Nurse, and Medical Director
- Coordinate specialized training for therapists and program staff in relevant clinical topics and treatment interventions
- Help develop and revise all clinical policies and protocols (to include defined interventions and management of a variety of DSM-IV disorders)
- Provide guidance and training to therapists and residential staff on relevant behavior management techniques that support the Bridge's program philosophy and therapeutic milieu; help ensure the effective operations of integrated Treatment Teams that include residential staff, therapists, and educational staff
- Help develop and implement specialized programs to meet clients' changing needs, including manualized treatments and specialized curriculum; facilitate special topic groups, as needed
- Supervise student interns
- Participate in weekly management team meetings, therapists staff meetings, and case consultations
Assessment
Conduct comprehensive diagnostic and psychological evaluations/assessments, as needed, and provide written documentation of evaluation/assessment findings
QUALIFICATIONS:
- D., Psy. D. in clinical or counseling psychology or social work with three years post-degree experience or Master's degree in psychology, family therapy, social work, education, counseling, or related human services field and at least five years of directly relevant experience
- Licensed or license-eligible in the State of Pennsylvania (if licensure is available in particular discipline)
- Certified in the use of the PA Client Placement Criteria (PCPC) for adults or eligible for PCPC certification
- Proficiency in DSM-IV diagnostic nomenclature
- Minimum of three years supervisory experience
- Minimum of three years experience in developing and conducting therapy (individual and group), particularly with adolescents
- Proficiency in multi-modal and cognitive-behavioral treatment models, including case conceptualizations, treatment planning, and implementation
- Thorough knowledge of alcoholism and other addictions and appropriate treatment modalities, particularly for adolescents
- Thorough knowledge of family therapy treatment models
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of and adherence to all state, city and program policies and procedures
- Sensitivity to issues of diversity
