POSITION SUMMARY Demonstrate leadership through the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care according to the standards of professional nursing practice. Acting as a resource to ANM/NM as appropriate for precepting, scheduling, team meetings, clinical implementations as directed. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Demonstrates appropriate delegation and supervision of patient care activities within the healthcare setting. 2. Demonstrates effective communication with other members of the healthcare team and promotes effective team functioning. 3. Helps to monitor the effectiveness of existing processes and policies towards improving quality outcomes; actively participates on quality projects. 4. Recognizes and resolves safety issues and potential unsafe situations within approved policies, procedures and protocol. 5. Actively participates in the development and attainment of department team goals. 6. Demonstrates effective critical thinking, prudent judgment and direction to staff in nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, interventions and evaluation of outcomes, and adjusts plan of care as needed. 7. Facilitates and leads effective interdisciplinary care team meetings as well as serves in a coaching, mentor or instructive role to nurse interns, students and peers, etc. 8. Effectively leads shift and post-event huddles when appropriate 9. Participates and provides feedback to manager for associate ESU, interviews and performance management. 10. Demonstrates effective conflict resolution skills, demonstrates dependability, reliability and flexibility. 11. Adds positively to creating and sustaining a healthy work environment and staff retention, oversees orientation of new clinical staff. 12. Serves as a resource to address points of escalation with patients, families and staff. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's Degree Conditional and time limited waiver for BSN requirement may apply to internal associates who complete their BSN within 3 years of transition to new role. New hires will need BSN Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing Licensure: Current Florida RN licensure or endorsement, Must have and maintain current driver's license, auto insurance and reliable transportation Certification: Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain. Experience: Minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience preferred. Language: Must be able to speak / understand written and verbal instructions in the English language PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: None Certification: None Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years Oncology, medical-surgical or home health experience. Minimum of 1-year Hospice experience desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: o Critical thinking o Decision-making o Financial acumen o Communication- public speaking skills; regulatory documentation o Computer experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must have visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks. Must have corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Must be able to lift, turn, pull, push or ambulate patients / equipment up to 90% of the assigned shift Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted up to 33% of the assigned shift Must be able to stand, walk, bend and stoop up to 90% of assigned shift. Potential for exposure to bio-hazardous waste, and known or unknown diseases. Exposure to home environments to include cleanliness, pets, smokers Participation in on call rotation; weekend/evening rotation
