Key Position Details Job Description

Provides remote support to providers and the nursing staff in the delivery of timely, quality patient health care services. Assists with chart prepping anticoagulation lab patients, communicates with patients, and obtains adequate patient medical information/data. Individuals will work in a remote setting with occasional clerical work on site.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Manages patient flow and obtains adequate patient medical information/data.
  • Accurately and completely charts information in the patient medical record.
  • Assists with scheduling appointments for patients.
  • Prepares refill information for provider to review.
  • Works with the electronic medical records in basket, responding to messages, results, and patient calls for provider.
  • Coordinates results of tests, procedures etc. with provider or RN.
  • Contributes to an environment that is safe for patients, visitors, and employees.
  • Reports environmental risks or equipment malfunctions to Supervisor. Uses equipment following policies, procedures and manufacturer directions or standards.
  • Follows all policies, workflows, standard work, and proper techniques when providing patient care.
  • Reports any acute problems and changes in patient's condition.
  • Applies High reliable safety principles to all interactions.
  • Accurately and completely charts information in the patient medical record.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
  • If an LPN, must have an Associate's or Vocational degree from a Board of Nursing approved LPN program
  • 1 to 2 years of Medical Assistant or LPN experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

Licenses/Certifications

  • If a Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant - CMA - American Association of Medical Assistants preferred
