Woman's Breast Specialist Clinic is looking for a full-time Clinic RN. Requirements: One year of RN experience, preferably in a clinic setting Active RN licensure through the Louisiana State Board of Nursing Responsibilities of the Clinic RN include, but are not limited to: Obtains relevant data (e.g., physical assessment, history, diagnostic data, etc.) and communicates data to other health team members appropriately, according to nursing standards. Keeps accurate information regarding referrals made, patients seen and surgeries scheduled. Adheres to DHH and JCAHO standards, including medicine storage, tracking and use in addition to medication administration training and competencies adopted by management. Implements physicians' orders and utilizes nursing judgement to provide nursing care by measuring and monitoring basic physical and psychological needs according to nursing standards of care. Instructs and educates patients and significant others in accord with patient needs. Documents care, education, and patient response accurately, concisely and completely according to nursing standards. Assists physicians with procedures and examinations as needed in accordance with hospital and department standards. Assists with obtaining informed consents when required. Evaluates patient's condition and delivers appropriate nursing interventions according to nursing care standards and/or departmental procedures. Assesses and discharges patients according to clinic policy and procedure. Manages patients with or without specific medical complications in accordance with specified procedures and physician orders, demonstrating knowledge of procedures and possible complications. Communicates pertinent information regarding patient status, problems and anticipated problems in an accurate, complete, concise, timely and courteous manner. Maintains competency in nursing and technical skills as appropriate to assigned area and according to hospital policy and procedure. Performs other duties assigned by Department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.
