Overview The largest and most important construction program in Electric Boat's history is in progress, and you can be part of the team that leads it. Construction efforts on the COLUMBIA Class are in full swing, and we need exceptional people to lead the program. Construction Program Representatives (CPR) lead the functional areas of EB with the goal of achieving all program objectives. CPRs are responsible for approving critical decisions involving cost and schedule, quality, and continuous improvement, continuously measuring each functional area's performance against objectives & initiating prompt corrective action, and representing EB to the Navy (Ship's Force/SOSG/PMS397) for all Program issues. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, one who takes initiative and will drive issues to resolution. CPRs are the direct representative of the Program Manager, and will be the voice of the Program Office to the COLUMBIA deckplate team. This position is a tremendous opportunity to learn about all functional areas of the company, while also contributing to a key enterprise need. The selected candidates will be responsible for leading all functional areas in the construction of Super Modules for COLUMBIA Class. The CPR will work directly with Operations and the Ship Manager to assist in all aspects of the construction process of early module assembly at QP to Super Module shipout. The candidate will work out in front of the production efforts to address new process start-up, build sequence changes, material availability or the need for fixtures or special test procedures etc to prevent challenges from becoming issues to the construction team. Cost, schedule and attainment metrics such as IMCS Data, 3G and 7G reports are the essential tools that will be use to track performance. Construction schedule analysis, cost performance analysis, and making recommendations to senior leadership and external stakeholders is a function of this role. Leading coordinated efforts between QP and NNS or Focus Factories to advance construction efforts at Quonset Point is a responsibility for certain modules. This is a high visibility position to shipyard and senior leadership. Successful candidates will be expected in time, to engage with all levels of management to report progress, seek assistance and manage activities. Engagement will be throughout the waterfront organizations including Planning, Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Test, Contracts, Finance, Ship's Force and SOSG. Overtime is required. This position is located at Quonset Point. Qualifications Required: Bachelor of Science Degree in a related technical field Internal candidates must be from a department outside of the Operations organization (Casciano/Gabriel) Preferred: Previous rotations or shipyard experience, understanding of CLB construction processes Operations management or construction support experience Skills Skills: Able to accomplish multiple tasks with minimum guidance Excellent communication skills; written, verbal, and presentation General knowledge of trade disciplines and EB procedures Candidate must be proficient in use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Excellent organizational skills Ability to read and interpret large amounts of data
