Job Title: Classified - Behavior Coach - Life Enrichment Education Program - Clackamas County (2024-25 School Year) Category: Classified Behavior Coach, Life Enrichment Education Program (LEEP) Location: Various locations available. Assignment to be determined based on program/student need. About the program: Our Life Enrichment Education Program (LEEP) provides a comprehensive education for students grades kindergarten through transition with complex disabilities and communication needs. The program focuses on supporting students to develop knowledge and skills that increase decision making, self-advocacy, independence and access to a full life. About this position: The LEEP Coach works under the direction of the Behavior Consultant to create supportive settings for students from kindergarten through age 21 who have significant cognitive disabilities. Behavior services may include direct instruction for the student and/or classroom staff, consultation, data collection, and material development as directed by the Behavior Consultant. The LEEP Coach is responsible for collecting and charting behavioral data, and communicating with teachers and behavioral consultants regarding student management issues and behavioral problems. The Coach provides training to others on topics specific to individual student programs and Behavior Support Plans to increase the capacity of the school team to effectively work with students. Essential functions: Learn and implement to fidelity a student's Behavior Support Plan under the supervision of the Licensed Behavior Consultant and Classroom Teacher. Provide instructional coaching to classroom staff related to the students Behavior Support Plan. Assists the LEEP Licensed Behavior Consultant in the development of stimuli that go hand in hand with behavioral programs, activities, and interventions that promote positive student behavior. Responds to student(s)' behavior in a manner consistent with student(s)' behavior support plans, safety plans, program philosophy, trainings, and CESD Board policies. Trained in current required and nationally approved noncrisis prevention and restraint and seclusion trainings such as NCI, OIS, CPI, and Mandt. Provides required and requested documentation such as student progress and other monitoring data within prescribed timelines and using available including low and high technology as guided by the Licensed Behavior Consultant and/or classroom teacher. Provides direct instruction to student(s) using evidence-based curricula to support the student(s) ability to make progress on Individual Education Program (IEP) goals as guided by the Licensed Behavior Consultant and/or classroom teacher. Assist teaching individual and small groups of students in relevant areas of instruction and adaptive behavior including communication, self-care, social skills, community use, functional academics, leisure, and work as guided by the classroom teacher and/or specialists. Assists teaching student(s) the transfer of skills in multiple settings, e.g., cafeteria, playground, bus, community as guided by the classroom teacher and/or specialists. Assists in the implementation of student(s) related service plans and accommodations including; communication system, personal care needs (i.e. feeding, toileting) and delegated health care need as guided by the related service teams. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and two years of work experience, preferably as a Behavior Coach or Educational Assistant. Alternatively, an Associate's degree from an accredited university with four years of relevant experience, preferably as an Educational Assistant or Behavior Coach. Current Registered Behavior Technician from the Behavior Analysist Certification Board (BACB) or in the process of obtaining that credential. Ability to remain professional while working in stressful environments and situations. Ability to communicate fluently in English in writing and speech. Ability to use technology to collect and summarize data clearly and concisely. Ability to complete appropriate Oregon State approved behavioral intervention training, such as OIS, to carry out interventions. Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid card. Ability to uphold Family Educational Right to Privacy Act (FERPA). Salary: Range 20 of the classified salary schedule. New hires are eligible to start at up to Step 4 depending on experience, per Classified Collective Bargaining Agreement. $27.96 - $30.45 per hour. There are two components to PERS, including the pension, which is primarily funded by CESD and The Individual Account Program, or IAP, which is funded by a six-percent deduction from your paycheck. If you are new to PERS, your PERS deduction will begin automatically after a six-month waiting period.
