Job Description:

• Demonstrate mastery of civil engineering concepts, principles, and practices. This includes the ability to prepare plans and details, write specifications and perform structural calculations (sometimes using state of the art computer-aided analytical support) in support of design objectives; preparing designs and calculations in compliance with nationally accepted building and seismic codes in accordance with Coast Guard guidance and be able to evaluate and manage the work of other designers to achieve design objectives; managing multi-discipline, multi-faceted projects related to real property facilities; planning, designing, cost estimating, and managing individual construction projects; and applying acceptable current construction Building Codes, procedures and practices, materials and equipment used in the construction of buildings. Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or registration as a professional civil or structural engineer in a state, District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Licensed Professional Engineer or other industry-standard professional licensure related to position highly desirable.

• Has a minimum of five years' experience working in the civil engineering field. Be trained and skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, computer-aided design (CAD), and database materials and programs to perform the detailed activities of this task order. The government will not be providing training associated with these duties. However, general orientations to assist incumbents to acclimate to the office environment will be provided. Participation in ancillary activities associated with other government employees will not be required. Duties/Responsibilities to be performed:

• Provide civil engineering services in support of work associated with projects on the Advanced Acquisition Plan and other inserted projects.
• Prepare design documents and/or scopes of work for Architectural and Engineering services, Design/Build services and construction work. This includes preparing. drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates and other documents, as required, for complex construction projects on sites with diverse climatic, geographic, and environmental conditions. It also includes providing technical advice to contracting. officers during negotiations.

• Perform site investigation of project sites to gather essential data for new or renovation work.

• Provide in-house civil and structural engineering advice and reviews.

• Update enterprise database system for budgeting, project execution and construction submittal reviews.

• Coordinate with site contacts and multi-discipline design team members.
• Conduct conceptual design meetings with in-house and site personnel.

• Provide support services to architectural and engineering designers in Coast Guard specific project documentation functions.
• Review and comment on submittals, requests for information and work schedules as submitted by construction contractors.
