A Caregiver provides non-medical personal care services as well as homemaker services to individuals in their own homes and communities, who have experienced a loss in their ability to independently perform the activities of daily living and to remain in a safe, clean, and healthy home environment.

Activities of daily living refers to bathing, dressing, transferring, using the toilet, eating and walking, to the degree which reflects the client's capacity for self-care.

Homemaker services is direct and practical assistance with household tasks and related activities.

As Caregiver you will provide support for your clients in residential settings. You will get to know your clients on a personal level as you assist them with in daily care.

Pay: $15 / hour

Flexible Schedule and both Full Time and Part Time Positions available

Additional responsibilities of the Caregiver include:

Non-Medical Personal Care Services:
  • Assisting with eating, including monitoring for safety and intake, and following special diets
  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene including bathing, tooth care and grooming including nail, skin, and hair care
  • Assisting with self-administered medication
  • Assisting with dressing
  • Assisting with transfers including one and two person pivot and use of lifts and devices
  • Emptying or changing external urinary collecting devices
  • Assisting with urinals, bedpans and / or commodes
  • Assisting in monitoring regularity in bowel movements
  • Assisting with prosthetics such as applying / removing / cleaning hearing aids and limbs;
  • Assisting with menstrual care;
  • Assisting with positioning in bed, wheelchair and other chairs;
  • Assisting with cradles, rolls and pillows
  • Providing bowel or incontinence care
  • Encouraging clients to perform normal body movements, as tolerated;
  • Encouraging clients to follow prescribed exercise programs;

Homemaker Services:
  • Conducting routine housekeeping activities such as making/changing beds, dusting, washing dishes, cleaning kitchen counters, cupboards and appliances, including oven, and stove top burners, cleaning inside of refrigerator, gathering up trash from inside the home and putting it out for pick up, cleaning bathroom fixtures, sweeping/vacuuming/scrubbing floors, and cleaning upholstery
  • Washing inside windows and cleaning blinds that are within reach without climbing
  • Doing laundry and ironing
  • Mending clothes
  • Teaching / performing meal planning and preparation
  • Cleaning up after meals

Respite Services:
  • Respite Care services are services furnished on a short-term basis because of the absence or need for relief of those persons normally providing the care.

Job Requirements
  • A Desire to care for others
  • There are no education or experience requirements for this position

Physical requirements to perform essential functions of the job included:
  • Regularly required to lift 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
  • Must be able to pull a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop.
  • Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Required to regularly stand and walk.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.

  • Name checked in the registries. (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
  • Drug testing
  • Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
  • Proof of employment history or references (if required)
  • Positions that require driving Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.
