CHILDCARE DIRECTOR / ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OVERVIEW: Depending on candidate experience, The Goddard School of Lake Houston is looking for a Director or Assistant Director. Goddard Lake Houston is a high-quality NAEYC and Cognia accredited private childcare, preschool, and kindergarten. Our leadership team works together to establish and maintain a safe, healthy, nurturing, and fun learning environment for all of our children. RESPONSIBILITIES: As a member of the leadership team, responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Ensuring all State of Texas minimum standards are significantly exceeded. Maintaining a strong culture of collaboration and accountability. Greeting and interacting with parents. Following up on leads, conducting tours, and converting potential families to Goddard Families. Managing the building in accordance with policies, procedures, and expectations. Participating in creating calendar, lunch menu, and snack menu and updating website calendar monthly. Conducting kitchen, resource room, and office supply inventories and ordering. Ensuring compliance for quality assurance, Cognia, and NAEYC at all times. Opening/closing building. Completing administrative tasks such as updating classroom binders, maintaining student/staff files, and ensuring all new child information is complete and accurate upon enrollment. Ensuring all classrooms are in ratio and assisting Teachers. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance and environment. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years of classroom experience in a preschool and/or group childcare environment. At least 2 years of building management and leadership experience in a preschool and/or group childcare environment. Proven ability to be dependable and on-time according to building schedule. Possess childcare-specific knowledge, such as a strong understanding of State of Texas minimum standards, teacher management, safety protocols, ratio management, and curriculum administration. Must posses exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to think and act quickly within a childcare environment. Desire to be collaborative. Willing to attend a week of paid training out of state. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree, Associates degree, or current CDA preferred. Current Director certification from State of Texas. Knowledge of and understanding of NAEYC Ethical Code of Conduct. Lesson plan development, lesson plan approval, and curriculum enhancement.
