The Custodian will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the children, staff, and parents. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and committed to ensuring the overall cleanliness and hygiene of our facility. Responsibilities: Cleaning and Sanitizing: Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces to maintain a safe and healthy environment for children. Trash Removal: Collect and dispose of waste from classrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces. Restroom Maintenance: Ensure that all restrooms are clean, well-stocked, and sanitized throughout the day. Support Events: Assist with setting up and cleaning up after special events or activities within the child care center. Report Maintenance Issues: Identify and report any maintenance or repair issues promptly to the appropriate supervisor. Supply Management: Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed to ensure a sufficient inventory. Outdoor Area Maintenance: Keep outdoor play areas clean and safe, including removing debris and ensuring the equipment is in good condition. Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with child care center staff to address specific cleaning needs and maintain open communication. Emergency Response: Be familiar with emergency procedures and respond appropriately in the event of spills, accidents, or other emergencies. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in custodial or housekeeping roles preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene. Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, products, and equipment. Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude. Ability to pass a background check. Must have reliable transportation Schedule: This is a full-time position with hours ranging from 10 AM to 8 PM, 40 hours per week.
