NEW. Child Psychiatrist opening in Waco, TX. We are looking for an on-site permanent psychiatrist. Inpatient only, no out-patient. Though part of the state hospital system, we are a psychiatric residential treatment facility (PTRF) and not an acute care hospital, the program is generally 6-9 months. We serve kids from the whole state. We have a budgeted census of 74, though our census was lowered to 55 at the outset of the pandemic. We currently have 40 kids on campus and the psychiatrist would have of those. We have a plan to get our census back to 60ish by the end of April. We currently have one on-site psychiatrist who is our medical director and a locums. Salary for a Psych III is $245,000. Since we are an PRTC, we have a slower pace than a hospital. The psychiatrist generally sees all of their kids each week in treatment team, but individually on a set schedule dictated by TAC.
