Tier: 1 Department: Child Care Supervisor: Family Services Specialist Location: 15380 K Road Mayetta, KS 66509 Pay Range: $11.55-$16.43 Offering rate will vary within the listed hourly range above. Questions before applying? Role: The Child Care Aide assists with plans and conducting activities/programs in the Child Care Rooms to include but not limited to; caring for children from ages 6-weeks up to 6-years old by diapering, feeding, holding, singing, dancing, reading, playing, and teaching. Individual child and family goals will be developed, implemented, and reviewed in partnership with parents on an ongoing, regular basis. A team approach between families and the Child Care Aide will support and assist each child's family to develop linkages and relationships within the community for any services needed. In addition, this position works with and supports the Early Childcare Education Program to provide collaborative services in a learning environment. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Experience: Up to 6 Months or related experience required. Must be 18 years of age. Education: HS Diploma/GED Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. Knowledge: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders. Skills: Monitoring- Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. Service Orientation- Actively looking for ways to help people. Social Perceptiveness - Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do. Active Listening- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Coordination - Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions. Abilities: Ability to develop positive working relationships with others, including members of the public. Ability to maintain high level of privacy and confidentiality of individuals and families. Ability to operate general office equipment telephone, computer and operating systems, computer software programs (Microsoft Office programs), fax/copier machine.
