Job Description
Position Summary : The Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist is responsible to deliver consultative psychiatry services to residents of Southern Health-Santé Sud up until the age of 18. It also includes acting as a resource to physicians, mental health care workers and patients, as required.
The Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist will provide services in a collaborative, team-based framework by working closely within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Program; with Community Mental Health Workers, primary care providers (physicians and nurse practitioners), other health care providers, clients and their support structures, including MATC, Shared Health and the Eden Mental Health team.
Qualifications :
- Must be eligible for specialty licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba;
- Must be a member in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba;
- Must have current malpractice insurance from the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) appropriate to the category of practice;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills;
- Good attendance and work record;
- Physically mentally able to perform assigned duties;
- Excellent experience in multidisciplinary team working.
- Proficiency in both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions

- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
- Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums
- Good work and attendance record

- Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate
