Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a leading healthcare provider on the East Coast. On behalf of our esteemed client, a prestigious Level 1 Trauma Children's Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, we are conducting a nationwide search for a highly qualified and dedicated Chief of Pediatric Pathology to lead their dynamic pathology department.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a board-certified pediatric pathologist to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of pediatric pathology at a renowned children's hospital. You will join a supportive and collegial team, enabling you to focus on both clinical excellence and research endeavors.

The Opportunity:

The Department of Pathology at this esteemed children's hospital analyzes approximately 2400 cases annually. As the Chief of Pathology, you will provide leadership and oversight for a team including one additional full-time pathologist, a transfusion medicine expert, and a microbiologist. Your responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of pediatric pathology services, ensuring the highest quality of diagnostic care for our young patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of the pediatric pathology department, including laboratory operations, quality assurance, and budget management.

Provide comprehensive diagnostic services in pediatric pathology, encompassing surgical pathology, cytopathology, and autopsy services.

Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnoses for optimal patient care.

Lead the development and implementation of new diagnostic techniques and protocols.

Foster a collaborative and positive working environment for the pathology team.

Actively participate in research activities, potentially including clinical trials and translational research.

Maintain CLIA and POC testing licenses.

Qualifications and Credentials:

Board-certified in Pediatric Pathology by the American Board of Pathology (BC AP/CP).

Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role within pediatric pathology.

Strong clinical and technical expertise in all areas of pediatric pathology.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and advocacy for children's health.

Eligibility for Pennsylvania medical licensure.
