The new Chief of Facilities will have a key leadership andmanagement role within the Public Works, Facilities, and ParksDepartment (PWFP). The Chief will oversee a staff of 80 FTE andreports to the Director of PWFP while working closely with themanagement peers within the organization. This positionrepresents an outstanding career growth opportunity, as theimmediate challenges will provide a chance to implement newmanagement systems and processes in addition to asserting highlevels of leadership in further instilling a greater focus onservice delivery, productivity, and organizational efficiency. Asthe PWFP department continues its maturation from a larger agencyentity to an independent standalone organization, there areongoing needs to strengthen management and administrativeinfrastructure providing greater visibility and awareness ofoverall operations.

Qualifications:

The appointed candidate will typically possess any combination oftraining, education and/or experience which provides theknowledge, skills, abilities and required conditions ofemployment. These requirements may be acquired with six or moreyears of administrative, supervisory, or managerial levelexperience that includes a wide variety of Facilities, CapitalProjects and/or General Services activities and a Bachelor'sdegree in architecture, civil or structural engineering or arelated field. A Master's degree and possession of a PE licenseor certification as an AIA is highly desirable, but not required.
