Our approach to acquiring and converting farmland relies on their unique operational expertise to enhance the value of each of their farmland investments. In 2015, Green Spring Farms in Monmouth, OR was acquired by Farmland LP. We are looking to add a CFO Director to oversee the financial operations of Green Spring Farms.

The CFO Director will be on-site in Monmouth, OR. You will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, guiding its financial strategy, planning, and maintaining its fiscal stability. You will collaborate with the executive management team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies. This position will have a day-to-day, ongoing impact on company operations, helping us to analyze, strategize, and grow our financial position. This is a leadership role that oversees 5 individuals and requires clear and effective communication skills.

Farmland LP offers a competitive base salary with a bonus, 401k with a 3% match, and covers 75% of medical plan costs for employees.

Key Responsibilities:

•   GAAP Accounting. Maintain the company s financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

•   Financial Reporting. Issue financial statements, comprised of the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash flows, monthly. Ensure statements comply with GAAP.

•   Budgeting . Manage the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets

•   Accounting Policies and procedures . Maintain and manage a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.

•   Account Reconciliations. Ensure general ledger accounts are accurate. Reconcile these accounts monthly. Maintain a formal reconciliation of each account.

•   Debt. Monitor debt levels and compliance with covenants.

•   Sales Accounting and Accounts Receivable. Maintain an accurate and timely accounting of sales and customer account activity (accounts receivable). Ensure sales invoices comply with GAAP revenue recognition standards and with customer contractual terms. Post customer payments and deposits. Monitor accounts receivable balances and partner with company management to collect amounts owed on time. Maintain customer accounts including reseller permits.

•   Crop Costing. Maintain a record of crop costs in ground by field and crop. Manage information from the field farming and harvest activities to capture yield per acre and cost per acre by farm and field.

•   Inventory. Maintain an accurate record of inventory quantities and value, held at both company-owned facilities and third-party storage locations. Inventory includes in-ground crops, uncleaned seed, and finished goods held for sale. Reconcile inventory monthly.

•   Land Leases. Ensure accurate and timely payments to landlords for amounts owed. Prepare and maintain crop-share records for leases where landlords may be owed payment for a share of crop proceeds.

•   Management Information. Maintain accurate and timely crop, fieldwork, and fertilizer and chemical application records in Granular in partnership with the company s Crop Managers. Manage employee time and attendance processes to ensure accurate and timely recording of hours worked company-wide.

•   Payroll . Responsible for managing payroll and payroll tax functions. Ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. Ensure compliance with governmental payroll regulations.

•   Employee Benefits . Responsible for managing accurate accounting and contributions to the company s 401(k) program.

•   Reporting Compliance . Ensure accurate and timely reporting to governmental agencies for business taxes and fees. Assist audit firm in the annual audit preparation. Provide all necessary documents and/or backup up for the preparation of the annual tax return.

•   Other duties as assigned .

Skills and Qualifications:

•   Bachelor s degree in accounting or finance, or bachelor s degree in business administration with adequate industry experience in accounting.

•   Minimum ten years experience with five or more years of experience in leadership roles.

•   CPA or CMA preferred.

•   Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.

•   Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.

•   Organized, logical, quantitative thought process.

Reporting Relationships

•   Reports to the Holdings CFO.

•   Direct reports include Controller accountant, 4 indirect reports.
