About the Job:
We have partnered with a leading legal advisory firm in the Columbus area on a search for a CFO role. The CFO is a strategic partner to the Firm's Executive Committee, contributing to the overall success and growth of the Firm through effective financial management.
Responsibilities of the Chief Financial Officer Include:
- Financial Strategy and Planning - Develop and implement financial strategies, plans, and policies. Provide financial insight and recommendations to the Firm's Executive Committee and various subcommittees.
- Budgeting and Forecasting - Prepare and oversee annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to align financial goals with the Firm's overall objectives. Conduct regular financial forecasting to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Financial Reporting - Generate and analyze financial reports for leadership. Ensure accurate and timely reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Banking and Investment Management - Oversee bank relationship and treasury management activities
- Tax Compliance - Oversee tax planning and compliance, ensure adherence to local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Employee Benefits and Payroll - Oversee payroll bi-weekly and employee benefits including 401(k).
- Insurance Management- Manage insurance coverages other than group benefits
- Leadership - Lead and develop the Finance department, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's effectiveness. Participate in the Executive Committee's meetings.
- Compliance and Ethics - Ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards in financial practices and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications of the Chief Financial Officer:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance
- MBA or CPA preferred
- Experience with legal or other professional services preferred
- Experience with Aderant software is a plus
