The Chief Dental Officer is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team. The Chief Dental Officer leads and mentors the Clinical Team. The Chief Dental Officer's work will advance best clinical outcomes, enhance the doctor and patient experience, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. The Chief Dental Officer's work will facilitate clinician success through engagement with EDP doctors and advance the goal of long-term retention. The Chief Dental Officer determines and implements best practices to be adopted by clinicians in the provision of high-quality dental care services in EDP dental practices.


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


• Develop and implement a strategic vision for clinical departments aligned with the organization's goals and objectives

• Mentor and provide leadership and guidance to clinicians with the goal of leading EDP practices toward clinical excellence

• Foster a patient-centered approach focused on best patient experience and outcomes, emphasizing preventive care, patient education, and personalized treatment plans

• Actively participate and oversee the employment of doctors from the interview and onboarding process to retention of existing EDP team members through continued engagement

• Promote and facilitate success of current and new doctors by identifying needs and implementing individualized support plans

• Identify underperforming doctors and develop enhanced support plans to facilitate clinician satisfaction and promote success

• Identify current best practices and establish and enforce policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices and applicable regulations

• Maintain familiarity with the latest advancements in dental technology, research, and treatments, and incorporate them into the organization as appropriate

• Monitor and evaluate the quality of dental services provided, ensuring adherence with industry standards, best practices and applicable regulations

• Develop and implement quality improvement and risk management initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, satisfaction, and overall experience

• Conduct regular audits, reviews, and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions when necessary

• Ensure clinicians are effectively and efficiently utilizing dental resources, including equipment, supplies, and materials

• Systematize chart audit process to identify risk and to address patient complaints and clinical concerns

• Provide clinical oversight and consultation for complex dental cases, ensuring optimal treatment planning and execution

• Interface with EDP leading clinicians to promote cross-specialty collaboration

• Promote and facilitate continuous professional development through internal and external continuing education programs

• Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements related to dental practice

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


• Represent Elite and serve as spokesperson for Elite in online and in community settings

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution

• Current valid license in good standing to practice dentistry

• 5+ years prior Executive-Level experience with large group practice in a leadership role, managing other dentists.

• Proven success and experience as a dentist, preferably in a leadership or managerial role

• In-depth knowledge of the latest dental technologies, innovations, and trends

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders

• Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards

• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


• Ability to work in an office environment, a dental practice, and remotely

• Ability and willingness to travel for work as necessary, up to 75% of the time
