Hiring for a first shift chemist in Ellenwood, GA. Job Title: Chemist Work Environment: On-Site (Ellenwood, GA) Shift: 1st shift - (4AM-2:30 PM) Job Description: Stay aware of and committed to safe handling and use of chemicals associated to the lab Test, approve and release batches for production by performing High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) analyses Perform a variety of wet chemistry including pH, viscosity and other basic analyses Actively learn and follow all analytical testing procedures and customer methods Troubleshoot and maintain laboratory equipment, including working with manufacturer to get equipment operational in a timely manner Observe good safety and housekeeping practices as well as Good Laboratory Practice Works as a team with Quality Control and other personnel Verify batch sheets for compliance Perform batch adjustment and mass balance calculations Carry out Out-of-Specification (OOS) procedures including communication to the customer Data entry of analytical results, review of data entry and submission to customer as requested Skills: QC QA Chemistry Wet Chemistry pH Viscosity HPLC Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science field Understanding and knowledge of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency rules and regulations Knowledge of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Experience running HPLC Experience in wet chemistry testing (pH and viscosity) About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
