EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED FOR CHEF:
Prepares daily prep list
Conducts training of all new kitchen staff
Direct and coordinate food preparation
Monitor kitchen staff performance
Investigate customer complaints
Modify work procedures or processes to meet deadlines
Weekly scheduling
Inspect facility and equipment for regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal laws
Plan menus
Daily ordering of products
Assist employees in resolving work problems
Interview and hire staff as needed
Meet with sales representatives in order to negotiate prices and order supplies
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment
Prepare foods of all types
Schedule for equipment repairs
Determine and maintain how food will be presented
Demonstrate new cooking techniques to staff
Meet with customers to discuss menus for special events
Maintain proper ticket times as determined by restaurant
Perform performance appraisals and discipline of staff when needed
Maintain cleanliness of grounds; other duties as required by management

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS FOR CHEF: Ability to repetitively use arms, hands and fingers; ability to communicate effectively with team members; positive attitude when working with peers; Culinary training required; Knowledge of basic training techniques; awareness of local, state, and federal health and sanitation laws; mastered the proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment; mastered sanitation, and safe food handling procedures. Minimum 5 years experience in food preparation required. Food Service Manager's Certification from the Oklahoma City - County Health Department required; must be at least 21 years of age with a valid Driver's license with no more than 2 traffic violations or 1 chargeable accident within the past three years. Knowledge or employment and safety procedures.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, an employee must be able to perform the following: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion. This position will require standing 90% of the time.

Heavy Work: Lifting up to 30 lbs frequently, 50 lbs occasionally.

Work Environment: Occasional exposure to cold, heat, and water.
