Charge Nurse - Pediatric Operating Room - Full Time/Days

SUMMARY: This position is accountable for managing the overall operations of a defined patient care unit during an assigned shift in the operating room. The incumbent is accountable for monitoring, evaluation, and directing patient care provided by staff, coordinating activities of the patient care unit, making staff assignments and assisting with the development and evaluation of staff members. The incumbent will assist with the recruitment and hiring of staff, evaluating staff competency and evaluating, coaching, and counseling assigned staff in concert with the Manager/Supervisor. This position practices within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Children's policies.


QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience required
  • OR Experience required, pediatrics a plus
  • Bilingual skills preferred

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited RN program required
  • Bachelor's degree required (does not have to be in nursing)
  • Active California Registered Nurse licensure.
  • BLS required within 30 days of hire or transfer into position
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 12 months of hire or transfer into position

POSITION DETAILS: Full time, 6 shifts per 2-week pay period, Day shift

PAY RANGE: $55.35 - $78.00
