Responsible for charge capture efforts and developing daily reconciliation reports that assist managers in maintaining accurate and timely charges.

Essential Functions
Perform charge reconciliation to ensure that Saint Anthony Hospital charges are accurate, billed correctly and supported according to documentation.
Work in partnership with the revenue capture department to deliver training that addresses identified coding and documentation gaps.
Drive consistent policies, procedures, workflow systems and process improvements in hospital and professional service coding, clinical documentation, and coding edits.
Direct liaison to help close the gaps within clinical documentation, support charging compliance, and charge capture workflows.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Knowledge and understanding of hospital revenue cycle operations (registration, charge capture, health information management, claims, payment posting).
The ability to identify trends and recommend solutions to charge capture processes and issues.
Knowledge of regulatory publications, how to access and interpret them.
Knowledge of government and commercial payer requirements to ensure accurate and compliant charging and billing of hospital inpatient, outpatient, surgical and ancillary services.
Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCs, and revenue codes.
Knowledge of APC, fee for service, and DRG payment methodologies.
Coding experience in a hospital inpatient and outpatient setting and professional certification as a RHIA, RHIT, or CCS.
Working knowledge of medical terminology.
Solid oral and written communication skills.
Excellent research, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Marginal Functions

Performs both essential and marginal job functions in a safe manner as identified by Saint Anthony Hospital and the respective department while adhering to the Hospital's confidentiality norms and standards. Actively and consistently demonstrates the core values of Saint Anthony Hospital in all interactions with others.
Assumes responsibility for knowing and maintaining established hospital and departmental objectives, policies/procedures including general sanitation, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Participates in performance activities including problem identification, data collection, solution selection, implementation and evaluation. Also assists in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies as appropriate.
Participates in staff meetings and other inservices, meetings or committees as required.

General Job Requirements

Associates degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management or a related field required.
Minimum of 1 year of relevant work or school experience required.
Healthcare related degree and professional work experience in revenue cycle operations and/or clinical operations, is preferred.
