The Position

Reporting directly to the Component Relations Director, the Component Relations Manager is responsible for supporting and managing ASQ's geographic communities council, regional communities, and overseeing the strategic alignment of activities and initiatives. The person hired into this role will be a part of the Component Relations department at ASQ in a very collaborative, supportive, and team-focused work environment. This position is also responsible for decisions that have a significant impact on the reputation of ASQ, member satisfaction, and the financial performance of ASQ.


Scope:

  • This position is responsible for up to 2 direct reports.
  • This person hired into this position will partner with the Component Relations Director to ensure strategy is realized within budget.
  • 10% Travel Required

Main Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary staff leader to ASQ regional communities and as secondary staff leader to the geographic communities council ensuring that ASQ's strategy is cascaded throughout.
  • Monitor performance and progress of geographic communities council plans and community plans related to annual business plan and overall strategic plan.
  • Oversee and manage budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow for geographic communities council, regional communities, and respective geographic communities.
  • Collaborate with appropriate internal and external groups to survey geographic communities council and regional leaders related to needs, satisfaction, and engagement.
  • Oversees all community websites to ensure relevant content and brand consistency.
  • Manage projects involving multiple parties within and outside of ASQ to ensure commitment and delivery of goals.
  • Act as primary staff leader to large regional community and member community events and conferences, or delegates as necessary.
  • Ensure that geographic communities council and communities adhere to and operate in accordance with established agreements, business plans, budgets, legal guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop templates, models, or framework for improved management of communities.
  • Regularly communicate with geographic communities council and communities to understand needs, resolve issues, and build relationships.
  • Review member community contracts for inconsistencies and advise regional directors on appropriate steps for final approval.
  • Adhere to ASQ Competencies: Accountability, Communication, Continuous Improvement, Developing Self and Staff, Ethics and Teamwork.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Bring Your Best: Position Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in association or volunteer management, or a related field.
  • One (1) year of people management experience.
  • Or equivalent combination of above

ASQ is conveniently situated in downtown Milwaukee, immediately adjacent to major freeway exits and the robust downtown economy. The Avenue MKE and Riverwalk access provides our employees easy indoor and outdoor access to shopping, restaurants, and coffee shops. Our office space is in a historic building incorporating newly designed workstations, an option for sit/stand desks, and community and collaboration space. We also offer a hybrid work environment that offers staff the option of working from home up to 3 days per week. Although hybrid is preferred, remote candidates will be considered.
