Welcome to VCA Southeast Portland Animal Hospital. We are a full-service facility offering Preventative/Routine care, Urgent and Emergency care, and Hospitalization.

Our Veterinary Technician team is growing, and we are looking for a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our hospital.

Overall Responsibility: Our CVTs provide compassionate veterinary care to our patients. Our Veterinary Technicians thrive in a fast-paced service, handle urgent/emergency cases, and enjoy the stimulating caseload.

Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.
Venipuncture and IVC placement.
Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.
Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.
Recognize subtle change in clinical status.
Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them.
Complete estimates, basic record keeping.
Competent with medical math
Anesthesia monitoring for routine and emergency cases.
Triage urgent cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.

Compensation: $ 29- 35/ hour. Starting range is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available. Starting sign-on bonus $2500 for qualified candidates.

Shift Differential: We offer a shift differential to all hourly associates who work on Sundays.

Schedule: Full-time opportunities available. We offer a 3 x 12 hour shifts (Sunday - Tuesday) or 4 x10 hour shifts (Sunday - Wednesday)

Requirements: Certified Veterinary Technician in Oregon or eligible to become CVT within six months of hire.
