Offering $5,000 bonus Job Summary: Under the supervision of an RN perform duties as a scrub personnel. When functioning as a member of the scrub team, the ORT prepares the sterile field for the surgical procedure, anticipates the needs of the surgical team cares for the instruments before, during, and after each operation. Regardless of the role that the surgical staff ORT is performing, all effort is to be directed toward maintenance of the principle of surgical asepsis, the protection of the patient from external environment and the maintenance of the patient self-concept. Qualifications/Reporting: Required minimum education: High School graduate or equivalent. Required minimum experience: Three to five years experience as a surgical tech highly preferred. Minimum time required to function effectively in this position is three to five months. Required skills (if applicable): Ability to read and write, effective oral and written communications skills and the ability to comprehend and follow verbal or written instructions. Knowledge of principles, terminology, standard practices, methods, techniques and operating room procedures, instruments, and equipment preferred. Required license/certification: Current Surgical Technologist Certification is required. If unable to fill position within sixty days of opening, hospital may consider a non-certified candidate. Current CPR.
