Certified Nursing(CNA) in Training Program Instructor (RN/LPN)

The position involves maintaining accreditation and approval of the Certified Nursing in Training program through the IN Licensing Board.

The qualified individual will begin by conducting facility-based schools and all that entails.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


• RN or LPN in IN


• E xperience as an instructor in a nursing education program that includes: teaching courses conducting and managing learning experiences, evaluating student achievement, providing input into curriculum development, policy and procedure formulation, and evaluation of program effectiveness measures or an equivalent combination of training and experience is preferred.


• Considerable knowledge of education methods, administration, and current accreditation and licensing procedures.


• Considerable skill to independently analyze and make recommendations regarding programs, procedures, and operations regarding areas of responsibility.


• Considerable interpersonal, verbal, presentation, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate and interact with all levels of staff, administration and stakeholders in a diverse community.


• Considerable skill to work independently with minimal supervision in a team-based environment.


• Working skill in the use of databases, spreadsheet applications, and word processing, preferably with the Microsoft Office applications.

Essential Duties:


• Responsible for the organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the Certified Nursing Assistant program.


• Maintain Nursing program accreditation through the IN Board of Nursing.


• Develop and maintain affiliations with clinical agencies and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.


• Develop curriculum and enhance instruction within the Nursing department, Teach courses where applicable.


• Prepare and monitor Nursing program budget, purchase equipment and supplies, maintain student lab and equipment.


• Participate in academic and professional development, departmental and college committees.


• Promote public relations for the school and the Nursing through community involvement


• Available to respond to internal and external students, clients, faculty, and vendors either in person, through email or over the phone, during scheduled business hours.


• Demonstrate independent judgement and discretion in making position related decisions.


• Maintain required training, licensure and/or certification


• Maintain confidentiality of privileged information and adhere to applicable privacy laws.


• Demonstrate sensitivity, understanding and respect of diverse populations within the workplace.


• Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
