Job Description This is a part-time position as a Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor teaching CNA courses. In most cases course dates follow the eight-week schedules for Great Basin College and clinical practice days vary according to the schedule that is set per each instructor. The courses theory (didactic) may be taught in person or online, practice skills lab, and clinical component are taught by each instructor. We are currently seeking to fill positions in Winnemucca, Nevada. Qualifications: Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Nevada. Must be certified as a CNA instructor or obtain that certification before teaching a course. Have no disciplinary action, administrative action, or any complaints pending against your nursing license. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred or minimum of an Associate's degree. Minimum of two years' nursing experience with a minimum of one year in the care of the elderly or chronically ill. Be able to work full shifts that may vary from 6 to 8 hours overseeing students in the clinical setting. Previous instructional experience is desirable, particularly in the community college setting. Must be self-motivated, have excellent organizational skills, and computer knowledge and skills. Ability to communicate effectively with CNA Program Director, administrators, students, and community agency personnel both orally and in writing. Understanding of and commitment to the mission of the College and the Health Sciences and Human Services Department and its programs. Responsibilities: Serves as a part-time nursing faculty for CNA students for all aspects related to the delivery of classroom curriculum and clinical learning activities for the nursing assistant program. May participates in the Nursing Assistant Competency Examination process as set forth by the Nevada State Board of Nursing. Other responsibilities include the following: Teach at least one CNA course per year. Assists nursing assistant Program Director in the implementation and execution of all facets of curricula as appropriate to program objectives, protocol and standards. Adherence to curriculum provided by the State of Nevada and departmental standards. Assists with the scheduling and coordination of classroom, Nursing Practice Lab, and clinical facility usage for CNA course. Coordinates preparation and management of CNA program forms and documents as needed. Attends and/or participates in related training programs and professional development activities as necessary. Salary and Benefits: Instructor(s) will be paid by the class. Rate per class will be paid at a customary rate for the type of instruction. This is a non benefits eligible position.
