Essential Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform basic personal care services such as take/record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food/fluid intake and output; changing non-sterile dressing, and massaging.
  • Provides residents' personal hygiene, and assisting with travel to the showers.
  • Conduct and/or assist residents with range-of-motion exercises and movement to wheelchair or activity areas.
  • Monitor client behavior and alert appropriate health care members to crises/concerns.
  • Implements and documents safe, therapeutic, and efficient care as directed by nursing staff.
  • Answer signals or intercom to determine residents' needs; and uses designated communication mechanism for patients with impaired hearing, speaking skills, or language barriers.
  • Support the psychological, social, spiritual, and cultural needs of the residents'.
  • Attend and participate in staff training, staff meeting, and staff developments activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Current valid CA State Nursing Assistant certification or equivalent as required.
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

Other Preferred Qualifications (will be prioritized):
  • A minimum of one (1) year nursing/CNA/HHA services in a large residential care facility within the last two (2) years highly preferred. Applicants with this qualification shall be prioritized.
  • Strong clinical care skills, including systematic assessment, planning, evaluation, monitoring, patient/ family education and documentation in accordance with Title 22 requirements.
  • Fulfillment of TB Test, fingerprinting, First Aid, CPR, and any other mandatory State/Federal requirements upon hire.
  • Capable of performing general procedural nursing duties.
  • Ability to safely lift &/or move patients on occasion when needed.
  • Demonstrates service-oriented behaviors in all interactions with patients, members, physicians, staff and visitors that include culturally sensitive good manners, respect, and polite communications.
  • Must have demonstrated skills to read and write with the ability to interpret written instructions and effectively communicate to co-workers, other health care team members, and clients.
  • Uses good judgment and available information to resolve issues.
  • Is flexible and can adjust to shifting priorities.
  • Strong commitment to the philosophy, goals, & mission of RAMS in providing community-based, culturally competent, and consumer-guided mental health services to the community.
  • Commitment to engaging in professional development activities such as trainings, continuing education seminars, case conferences, and reviewing up-to-date material, etc., as related to treatment strategies for the population of BSARF.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively, function independently, and interact professionally with a diverse, multi-cultural, and interdisciplinary staff of all levels.
