Reports to: LPN, RN, Resident Care Director and Director of Nursing FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly Full Time and PRN positions available About the Position: A certified nurse assistant/aide, provides resident/patient care within the scope and ability of the certified nurse aide under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. He/she may, within the scope and ability of the certified nurse aide, be responsible for the provision of age-appropriate care for infant, child, adolescent and elderly patient populations. Qualifications: A. Professional 1. High school graduate or currently pursuing a high school diploma. 2. Experience in long-term care preferred. 3. Current BLS (CPR) certification preferred; required within six months of date of employment or transfer. 4. Demonstrates knowledge of confidentiality principles. 5. If not certified, must complete a minimum of 16 hours of a nurse assistant training program, covering the required topics, prior to hire and obtain State certification within 4 months of hire. 6. Must adhere to the standards and policies of the corporate compliance program, including the duty to comply with applicable laws and regulation, and report to a designated manager (or employer hotline) any suspected unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful acts or practices. 7. Adheres to the safety guidelines as outlined by the facility and reports unsafe equipment, areas, practices, etc., as required by policy. B. Personal 1. Must complete pre-employment physical and physical therapy work capacity evaluation. 2. Cognizant of the potential for exposure to blood/body fluids. Understands and utilizes universal precautions. 3. Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times. 4. Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal communication skills necessary to deal effectively with patient/residents/families, Pioneers Medical Center staff, and the public. 5. Understands the need to adhere to established dress code. Presents a neat and well groomed appearance. 6. Present and punctual for all scheduled shifts. 7. Is aware that differing shift work may be required in order to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care. May be required to work days, nights, weekends and holidays 8. Upon hire, will be required to read, sign and adhere to the Legal Compliance Program of Pioneers Medical Center. 9. Demonstrates cooperative attitude in working with other staff as a member of the Health Care Team. C. Other Requirements 1. Must be able to function under the supervision of a charge nurse. 2. Demonstrates ability to understand and follow written/verbal instructions. 3. Demonstrates good communication and i4terpersonal skills under stress. 6. Must observe and adhere to proper principles of body mechanics. Day and Nights positions available
