We are hiring for our Foundry Department

SUMMARY: Assist with a wide variety of duties and operations in the Centrifugal Cast area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate and adjust Centrifugal Cast system (equipment/machine). Place and set molds, make sprues, mold paint, and other associated work at Casting area. Melt copper and copper alloys from traveler instructions. Responsible for maintaining launders; cutting and identifying of cast products. Serve as back up to DC Cast and be back up for first heats. Must be able to operate fork lift truck and other material handling devices. Will assist in training when needed. Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: One-year certificate from college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL and/or COMPUTER SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use basic shop math. Knowledge of computer operation and related software required.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Operate fork lift truck (will be licensed in accordance with OSHA power industrial truck operator requirements.)

The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to loud continuous noise, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, loud continuous noise, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Detect quantity discrepancies, defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to proper supervision. Will complete data transactions where necessary. Perform changing lubrication, cleaning and maintenance of equipment when necessary. Will maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times. A working knowledge of all job-related Quality Management System operating procedures and work instructions is required.

Compensation details: 22.54-24.5 Yearly Salary
