Company Info RK Hall Construction Ltd is a leading provider of high-quality asphalt paving materials and services, pavement rehabilitation, grading, and bridge construction in northeast Texas, southeast Oklahoma, and southwest Arkansas. When joining our team, we offer the following benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Life Insurance / AD&D Short-term and Long-term Disability Employee Assistance Program access (EAP) 401(k) with company-matched contribution Paid Holidays Paid Time Off (PTO) program Overview Summit Materials is looking for a safety-oriented driver with a Commercial Driver's License to operate a commercial motor vehicle with a capacity of at least 26,001 GVWR, to transport and deliver ready mix concrete. Will be required to operate various aspects of vehicle's systems to alter, mix, or unload as required. May require the use of automated routing equipment. Roles & Responsibilities Fills water tank, checks slump of load and cleans excess material from truck. Safely drives loaded truck to destination on delivery ticket and/or instructions from dispatch. Ensures all delivery tickets are signed and returned to the plant. Upon arrival, inspects job sites, works with customers to obtain adequate vehicle access and unloads material. Communicates truck status with Dispatch by use of two-way radio and encoders. Rinses chutes and rear of truck free of spilled concrete (re-hangs extension chutes as necessary). Returns to same yard or other yard as instructed by dispatch and receives new instructions. Maintain good customer relations. Act in a professional, courteous manner. Maintain a professional appearance. Assists in training co-workers as needed. Performs pre-trip vehicle safety inspections and reports vehicle condition at the beginning and the end of each shift. Checks all vehicle fluid levels daily and adds fluids as necessary. Occasionally uses chipping hammer to remove excess concrete build up. Performs minor repairs and assists mechanics in vehicle repairs. Changes flat tires with spares and assists tire mechanic as needed Skills & Experience High School diploma or equivalent Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with valid medical card Meet minimum MVR requirements Ability to provide high standards of customer service Ability to clean all areas on the vehicle, climb ladder to inspect loads, and hang extension chutes Build a lasting career with us.
