CDL-A Dedicated Yard Switcher

Dedicated yard switchers play a critical role in our customer's transportation needs by ensuring the timely movement of trailers in and out of the docks on-site at the customer's location. Unlike some positions, this one gives you a better idea of the number of hours each week holds, which means you'll have a better idea of what to expect in every paycheck. And because you know your customers and their typical freight load, you'll never be surprised or slowed down by unusual shipments.
Competitive pay:
Average $1,021 per week / $53,105 per year (based on 45 hours per week)
Starting pay is $21.50 per hour
Top pay of $22.50 per hour
.50 cent increases every 90 days
Overtime paid at time and a half
Average 43 - 50 hours per week
Home daily
Two shift options available:
Monday-Friday; 2nd shift, 2:30 p.m.-11 p.m.
Sunday night-Friday morning; 3rd shift, 10:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
Occasional weekend work as needed; at least 2 Saturdays per month
Ensuring the timely movement of trailers in and out of the docks on-site at the customer's location

Must live within a 75-mile radius
Must have 6 months of full-time verifiable tractor-trailer and/or switching experience within the past 3 years
Must be 21 years of age or older
Drivers must have Class A CDL
No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years
No suspensions or revocations within the last 5 years
No serious violations within the previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with fatality)
No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years

Essential functions:
Open/Close Trailer Doors - force requirement: 46 lbs
Count freight
Complete fuel tickets
Obtain sales leads
Hook/Unhook trailer - force requirement: 90 lbs (Class A Only)
Perform pre-trip inspections
Drive
Regular predictable attendance
Enter/Exit a Commercial Motor Vehicle
Enter/Exit the rear of a trailer from ground level
