The Cath Lab Technologist specializes in assisting with cardiac procedures and other procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab and/or bedside as needed using medical imaging techniques and equipment necessary to complete procedures under the direction of a licensed practitioner. Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designated to project a positive image of the department and the hospital. Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians, and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful, and considerate manner to promote a harmonious work environment. Answers telephone in a prompt and courteous manner. Provides assistance, explains procedures and exhibits concern, as appropriate, to callers or in face-to-face situations. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of the hospital's Standards of Conduct and of our external and internal customers. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described within. Education: At a minimum, completion/graduate of a school for Radiologic Technology OR Cardiovascular Technology program. Copy of diploma or transcripts must be provided (diploma preferred). Experience: Prefer six (6) months experience within Cardiac Cath Lab performing percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), but not required. Licenses/Certificates: For graduates of a Radiologic Technology program, an active license for General Radiographer by the State of Florida and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for Radiography (R) is required. For graduates of a Cardiovascular Technology program, current registry with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required for all candidates through the American Red Cross (ARC) or the American Heart Association (AHA).
