This is a Category Manager position and requires someone who has Procurement, Strategic & Capex. As a Category Manager your roles and responsibilities will include:

The Category Manager CapEx (Capital Expenditures) is responsible for managing the procurement activities of capital equipment, building, infrastructure, and services from manufacturers across the globe at the best overall.

The Category Manager CapEx is a key member of the central Procurement team. The individual holding this position will report directly to the VP Procurement and will work closely with the Investment Controlling Director and other internal stakeholders (e.g., OpEx, Engineering, Business Unit Procurement, Plant Procurement, and senior leadership).

This is a global role for the CapEx category in working across Business Units (Extrusion Europe, Extrusion North America, Precision Tubing and Building Systems) but with a strong focus on Extrusion North America. Therefore, the individual will also work closely with the Extrusion North America Procurement Director. The position will be preferably based in Pittsburgh.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead category strategy development, deployment and supplier management for Capital Equipment and Services. Analyze category trends, support business strategy, and deliver improved value for money, mitigate risk and enhance quality and service.

Work closely with stakeholders (e.g. OpEx, Engineering, Plant Procurement, Business Development, Finance and other senior leadership) to understand the strategic direction, capital requirements and business priorities.

Achieve overall cost avoidances, while ensuring vendors meet all requirements for quality, project timelines, adherence to established contracts, and all Health, Safety, and Environmental considerations.

Act as a leader in managing the total cost of ownership (TCO) within the category, coordinating all procurement activities to seek alternate and innovative ideas to provide business solutions, incorporate technical requirements and specifications and create competitive advantage.

Benchmark capital costs and best practices across Business Units and plants to ensure we maximize value creation across all.

Lead Request for Proposals, conduct fact-based negotiations with suppliers (building on supplier and industry analysis, benchmarks, cost structure analysis), review and select suppliers with whom we can build long term customer/supplier relationships.

Negotiate, draft and finalize multi-year contractual agreements establishing strong commercial, safety, sustainability, ethical and legal contract terms.

Manage major contracts and supplier relationships for the CapEx category through supplier scorecards and business reviews; measure contract compliance and other key metrics to ensure targets/ schedules are being met and value is being delivered to the business.

Act as a liaison between stakeholders and suppliers/contractors/sub-contractors to implement contracts fulfilment and facilitate issue resolution (e.g., warranty claims, vendor delays, project budget adherence) to ensure optimal stakeholder satisfaction and business objectives.

Work closely with Investment Controlling Director and the plants to ensure all purchasing activities are conducted in accordance with proper policies and procedures. Track execution of the projects; focusing on cost and timeline.

Ensure compliance to all Procurement Policies and all applicable laws.

Review and challenge current CapEx procedures and processes to guarantee procurement is involved at the right stages of project development and supplier outreach.

Ability to travel up to 30% as required.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Category Manager who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Category Manager would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:

Bachelor s degree required. Preferred focus in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.

Minimum of 7 years of experience, although prefer 10+ years, working in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, or related field.

Experience with capital equipment and services category, ideally in collaboration with OpEx and Engineering

Experience developing a strategic approach to spend categories or supply base.

Experience working in a cross-functional setting to ensure all business areas (e.g., finance, legal, operations, etc.) are providing the appropriate input to accomplish procurement goals.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and video conferencing tools

Experience with Should-Cost modeling, Total Cost of Ownership, and ROI analysis preferred.

Experience working within a project management environment.

Ability to understand technical equipment terminology and read engineering prints.

CPSM/CPSD/C.P.M. certification(s) preferred.
