The Category Manager for MRO and Indirect Spend is responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize costs, improve supplier performance, and ensure the uninterrupted supply of goods and services necessary for our manufacturing operations. The role involves working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to drive procurement strategies that support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute category strategies for MRO and Indirect Spend that align with business goals and objectives.

Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on criteria such as cost, quality, delivery, and service.

Negotiate contracts and agreements that deliver cost savings while maintaining or improving product quality and service levels.

Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide guidance on procurement best practices.

Lead cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation in the MRO and Indirect Spend categories.

Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and best practices in procurement to identify opportunities for improvement.

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to procurement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on MRO and Indirect Spend categories, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Solid understanding of procurement best practices, market trends, and industry developments.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Proven track record of delivering cost savings and process improvements through strategic sourcing initiatives.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
